At IFFA 2022, Weber highlighted
integration of equipment, designed
to work together in lockstep by maintaining
intelligent communication
between components. Weber also
showcased new packaging, dividing,
scanning and pressing technologies.

technology has evolved as an end-to-end
solutions provider
highlight its well-received packaging
solution, the wePACK 7000. The
wePACK platform delivers precision
thermoform packaging as a sustainable
solution for processors of
sliced meats and cheeses and closes
production line gaps with a more
thoroughly integrated, high-speed
packaging product. Integration has
been at the heart of Weber's entry
into the packaging arena. Through a
thorough and focused development,
with the target of solving traditional
machine and line challenges to
establish as a world class thermoforming
solution, the wePACK is an
emphatic compliment to Weber's
world-class slicing solutions. Through
the utilization of the same control
system, electrical, and pneumatic
components as Weber's existing
product portfolio, the wePACK
7000 ensures accuracy, speed, and
continuous operation via the lauded
Weber Power Control system.
Zach Bearson, Weber's Director
of Business Development, stated,

Like Weber's slicing equipment,
its packaging technology is built for
high-speed throughput, longevity,
and food safety, combining robust
engineering with an eye toward
sanitary design. Unique when
compared to many packaging solutions
available today, the wePACK
7000 boasts the strongest frame on
the market. It facilitates packaging
formats that include modified atmosphere,
vacuum-skin, envelope and
multi-layer packaging.
" This is built like a tank, " McCarroll
said during a booth tour at IFFA.
He went on to point out the
strength of the system prevents
" frame flex " which can negatively
affect film tracking.
" Alignment is critical, " said
Bearson, relative to the packaging
film, stating how what might start
as a microscopic variance can
exponentially develop into an issue
that requires downtime to correct,
especially detrimental in high-volume,
continuous production lines.
" It's not unlike hanging wallpaper,
where a deviation at the top ends
up being a major problem at the
bottom, " he said.
