A new case ready plant has Tyson Fresh Meats
soaring into the future.
A NEW TYSON FRESH MEATS PLANT
located in Eagle Mountain, Utah, is
adding to the capacity and reach of
the nationwide Tyson Fresh Meats
case ready program. Located in Utah
County, Utah, as part of the Provo-Orem
metropolitan area, the Eagle Mountain
plant is Tyson Fresh Meats' fifth case
ready plant in the nation and the largest
case ready facility in the U.S. to date.
Tyson Fresh Meats' case ready plant
produces what consumers commonly
see in the meat case of their local
grocery store but on a much larger
scale. The meat cutting and packaging
operation takes large cuts of beef and
pork and portions them into consumerfriendly
sized steaks, chops, roasts
and ground meats. These convenient
packages are weighed, labeled and
shipped to retailers across the country
for the stocking of grocery, club and
superstore meat cases.
Continued Alignment
The continuing expansion of the
company's case ready program is in
alignment with its Fresh Meats growth
strategy that looks to meet growing
demand for consumer-ready meat that's
pre-packaged and available to pick
up and go. Completion of Tyson Fresh
Meats' fifth case ready facility in Eagle
Mountain will further the company's
ability to serve its customers more
efficiently by keeping meat cases
stocked for shoppers throughout the
country with easy access to beef, pork
and ground beef.
The Utah-based facility will also be
a catalyst for driving the evolution and
growth of case ready beef and pork
packaging and production innovation,
according to Kevin Meyer, director of
case ready business development,
Tyson Fresh Meats.

The Eagle Mountain plant was designed
from the start to offer ample room for
the growth and evolution of innovative
technology. Within the large and diverse
plant, Tyson Fresh Meats will transfer
what's working well to other case ready
facilities across the greater network and
test and develop new and innovative
technology that will strengthen Tyson
Fresh Meats' position to meet customer
demand nationwide.
And, if a unique product opportunity
presents itself, the Eagle Mountain
facility of close to 1200 team members
already has the space to meet the
demand. The state-of-the-art Eagle
Mountain facility also allows Tyson Fresh
Meats to shift volume across its other
nationwide Fresh Meats case ready
production facilities in Sherman, Texas;
Council Bluffs, Iowa; Goodlettsville,
Tenn. and Columbia, S.C.
