Companies today struggle to find the skilled
technicians and maintenance workers
they need to maintain profit margins in an
advancing food manufacturing industry.
Equipment downtime, troubleshooting without
direction, and a " skills gap " between seasoned
maintenance techs with higher proficiencies
and the recent/incoming workforces; these
are pain points that all food producers suffer.
The speed at which technology changes,
experienced workforce leaving the job and
fewer trainees only worsens the problem.
Many food processors and producers have
turned to automation to address the lack of
labor, but automation still requires employees
with distinct skill sets to operate, program,
and troubleshoot automated machinery
and equipment. This is all in addition to
basic mechanical competencies, proper
