As the representative association for meat and
poultry processing stakeholders, NAMI echoes
the labor shortage concern for industry
companies.

" To be clear, labor challenges were not
caused by the pandemic; COVID-19

meat industry has been facing a labor
shortage for some time and it continues

The industry continues to do its part to retain
and attract workers. Some of the efforts
include offering higher wages, bonuses and
other workers benefits such as paying college
tuition for children whose parents work at
the company.
But as the labor shortage continues for the
time being, processors - large and small -
need to come up with viable solutions to
keep their operations running now and in the
future.
