offer the highest finished product quality, safety and security with comprehensive customization capabilities.
Olam SVI has the leading global position in black and
white pepper, and its multi-origin sourcing of ginger
is unique in the industry. Additional spice operations
include farm-level sourcing of red pepper, chili pepper,
cassia, nutmeg, turmeric, cumin and coriander.
"We have implemented a full traceability program
domestically, which keeps track of our products from
the moment the seeds are planted in the greenhouse
or field, to the location where our customers take
delivery of their order," says Dave Watkins, senior vice
president of agricultural operations. "We can tell all
our customers the country of origin of the products
they are buying."

Sustainable Onion Operations
Olam SVI has been conventionally breeding onions
since 1943. Its in-house program selects for high-yield,
high-solids, disease-resistant onions in order to provide
customers with consistent dried onion products.
"We focus on attributes that make the best dried
onions," says Larry Hanson, director of research and
development. "This includes reduced moisture in
the onion so there's more to process, as well as a
consistent white internal flesh in the bulb and a
desirable pungent aroma. We also want to prevent
