NEW CONSTRUCTION
Facing increased demand for freeze-dried pet food proteins
from the industry, Petsource by Scoular completed
an expansion of its freeze-dried pet food and treat plant.
The expansion added an additional 70,000 square feet to
the 105,000-square-foot plant. The expansion involved
tripling Petsource's number of freeze dryers, therefore
tripling the company's overall capacity. In addition, the
company also expanded the facility's raw processing and
forming lines and expanded warehousing space.
The Crump Group
Location: Nashville, NC

The Crump Group is expanding its existing premium
dog treat manufacturing facility. The expansion is set
to increase the facility's production capacity and will
include state-of-the-art technologies to help reduce
The Crump Group's environmental footprint. The facility
produces the company's Caledon Farms, Crumps'
Naturals and Dog Delights products.
Nestlé Purina PetCare
Location: Jefferson, Wis.
Investment: $195 million
Announced: April 2024
Purina is currently laying the groundwork for an expansion
of its wet pet food processing facility in Wisconsin.
The expansion will add 35,000 square feet to the existing
plant, enabling Purina to increase the site's capacity by

nearly 50%. The facility currently produces Purina Pro
Plan, Fancy Feast and Beneful Incredibites dog and cat
foods, and employs more than 250 people.
Stampede Culinary Partners
Location: Ontario, Canada
Stampede Culinary Partners, Inc. expanded its Canadian
facility, adding sous-vide technology to offer high-quality
cooked protein products to its customers. Through
the addition, the company has expanded its capabilities,
which can be used to create premium pet foods.
Mars
Location: Cambrai, Aimargues, Saint-Denis-del'Hôtel
and Ernolsheim, France
Investment: at least $52.2 million
Announced: May 2024
As part of its multi-million-dollar investment in its
France, Mars intends to expand its pet food operations
in the country. The project will include modernizing and
digitalizing its processes at its pet food plants, as well as
installing new production lines, renovating offices, installing
solar panels and expanding storage capacity for
raw materials. These expansions will support Mars' production
of its PEDIGREE and WHISKAS brands and its
Royal Canin division. Additionally, these moves seek to
help reduce Mars' environmental footprint.
Butternut Box and PsiBufet
Location: Zabrze, Poland
Announced: May 2024
Project completion: mid-2025
Butternut Box and PsiBufet are currently developing a
new dog food facility that will specialize in fresh and
healthy products. The facility will span 430,556 square
feet and employ several hundred people. According to
the companies, the facility will allow it to meet growing
