A sweet taste of home
Kami Smith grew up surrounded by the warmth of family in a kitchen full of
sweet desserts. Recreate this taste of home with her favorite cobbler recipe.

Peach pecan cobbler
INGREDIENTS
Peach filling

Instructions

6 fresh peaches, cored and sliced
(4 cups)*
¾ cup white granulated sugar
¼ tsp. salt

Batter for base of dish
6 Tbsp. salted butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup white granulated sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
¾ cup milk
ground cinnamon, to taste

Cobbler topping
¾ cup white granulated sugar
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/3 cup chopped pecans
8 Tbsp. unsalted butter, chilled,
cut into small cubes

Preheat the oven to 350q F. Place
6 Tbsp. butter in a baking dish
and melt in oven. Remove once
melted and slightly tilt so entire
base is coated. Set aside.
Filling: Mix fresh peaches in a
bowl with sugar and salt until
combined. Set aside.
Base: In a mixing bowl, combine
all dry ingredients, whisking to
remove clumps. Add milk and
vanilla. Combine well.
Topping: In a small mixing bowl,
combine dry ingredients and
nuts. Add butter cubes and
combine using a pastry cutter or
stand mixer with paddle. Mix into
small pea-size pieces. Chill until
needed.
Pour batter in dish, then
distribute peaches evenly. Finish
with cobbler topping.
Bake for 35-45 minutes, until
golden brown and small bubbles
develop on sides.

with ice cream and enjoy!

*If using frozen peaches, follow recipe
as directed. If using frozen prepped
peaches, use required amount as is,
since they've already been treated
with sugar and acid.
