Albertsons Companies deployed
Procurant, a purchasing and order
management platform focused on the
perishable supply chain, to its Albertsons,
Safeway, Jewel-Osco, Acme, United

October.
The Procurant system connects all
suppliers and stakeholders across the
perishable goods supply chain. It is
the first new perishable goods buying
platform available to retailers in more
than 20 years, according to the company,
and it uses modern technology and
design to improve the speed, efficiency,
and reliability of order management in a
critical category for retail grocers.

platform to strengthen retailersupplier
relationships
In August, United Natural Foods
enhanced the ability for retailers and
emerging suppliers to facilitate purchase
orders directly on UNFI's Easy Options
platform through its partnership with
RangeMe.
Easy Options, which serves smallto-medium-sized
businesses with
flexible order sizes and no frequency
requirements, provides RangeMe
suppliers with an additional outlet to
promote their products to retail buyers.
In turn, UNFI suppliers will set up a
profile on RangeMe to increase their
brand and product visibility to a wider
audience of retail buyers.
RangeMe aims to help retail buyers
discover innovative and emerging
products, while streamlining the inbound
product submission process. For product
suppliers, the platform enables them
to grow their retail relationships while
providing the tools to manage their
products, market their brand, and build
awareness.
