BY BOB GATTY S nack food industry executives will soon head to Tampa, FL, for SNAXPO 2013, the Snack Food Association (SFA)’s conference and trade show. The 76th annual event will be held March 16-19 at the Tampa Convention Center. A highlight of SNAXPO 2013 will be the annual State of the Industry Report, to be presented by Sally Lyons Wyatt, executive, client strategy & insights, Symphony IRI Group, Inc. Ms. Wyatt will discuss the performance of specific product categories during the past year and the impact of evolving consumer demographics and trends. She also will suggest strategies and opportunities for the year ahead. “Our research clearly illustrates that snacking behavior has escalated during the past couple of years,” Ms. Wyatt said. “In this year’s presentation, we are digging deeper into trends in this area, painting a picture of how and why snacking behaviors evolve throughout a consumer’s lifetime.
