NAXPO 2016 brought more than 1,400 attendees from 30 different countries to Houston, TX.
There were 166 exhibiting companies on the
show floor, and 53 of them attended for the first-time. A
full equipment show, SNAXPO 2016 featured exhibitors consisting of the leading suppliers of packaging
equipment, seasonings, ingredients, frying and baking
equipment, distribution and supply chain solutions, and
much more.
"It's my first experience, and I'm very impressed," said
Scott MacAdams, western sales manager for Spokane,
WA-based Commercial Creamery Co., while at the show.
"The event is really well-attended. A veteran member of
the SNAC International welcomed me and helped me
get acquainted to SNAXPO and the association."
From a veteran perspective, it was also a success.
"We've always viewed SNAXPO as one of our most
important tradeshows based on the quality of the leads
and the content/relevance of the presentations," said
David Cantrell, senior sales director, DairiConcepts. "This
year's show was no exception."
Throughout the event, it was evident that the industry is expanding in response to consumer demand, and

To kick off the docket of speakers, SNAXPO brought
up Joe Scarborough from MSNBC's Morning Joe. Mr.
Scarborough pointed out some key elements to watch
during the 2016 presidential race. He provided some
historical context for the current Republican campaign
and said that - despite current campaign slogans -
America is already the greatest country.
Monday morning attendees heard the "State of
Snacking" presented by Jared Koerten, Euromonitor
senior analyst. Mr. Koerten said that millennials - and
the younger "Internet Generation" - are increasingly
important market demographics. These shoppers often
lack the time - and confidence in their own cooking
abilities - to prepare traditional meals. New breakfast
items, creative product combinations and innovative
packaging are also important components of the trend
toward convenience foods.
To finish it off, SNAXPO attendees received leadership
