Charlotte, NC-based Snyder's-Lance, Inc.'s Emerald
brand added dried fruit to its nuts to create 100-Cal
packs. The Emerald Nuts 100 Calorie Fruit and Nut Blends
come in two flavors, Walnuts & Almonds with Dried
Cherries and Cashews & Almonds with Dried Cranberries.
Overall, Emerald snack nuts earned more than $113 million in sales during the past year, according to IRI data.
Karma Nuts, Dublin, CA, launched a Wrapped Cashew
available in Original, Lightly Salted, Cinnamon and Lime
Twist flavor varieties. Wrapped Cashews are dry-roasted
in their own skins without oil, resulting in more crunch
and nutrition, according to GlobalData.
Cashews are promoted to be non-GMO, vegan,
gluten-free, high in copper and manganese. They are
also a good source of iron, zinc and magnesium, making
them an excellent choice for the 61% of US consumers
who say they somewhat (42%) or completely (19%) use

Jumbo Roasted Sunflower Seeds under the David

healthy snack, but creative flavors may also appeal to
consumers, according to GlobalData.
Truly Good Foods, Charlotte, NC, created Buffalo
Nuts, which are peanuts with a kick of zesty buffalo
wing flavor.
Chad Hartman, director of marketing, Truly Good
Foods, said convenient, grab-and-go packaging is a
must in the industry, and clean labels have gone from a
trend to a necessity. The company's trEAT4u line works
for a quick mid-morning snack or afternoon pick-me-up
and features varieties like Almonds and Triple Treat, a
mix of pecans, walnuts and almonds.
Making waves in the snack aisle once more, SuperSeedz introduced its organic line at Expo West, Anaheim, CA. The line features three flavors: Pink Himalayan Salt, Garlicky Dill, and Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt.
"Each product is allergy-friendly, certified organic,
Non-GMO Project-verified and available in sweet and
savory flavor profiles," Mr. Lupica said.
SuperSeedz offers natural ingredients, including fresh
herbs and seasonings, and no artificial flavors. It's Tomato
Italiano pumpkin seeds are made with real garlic, oregano and sea salt, and its Maple Sugar & Sea Salt seeds are
made with real maple sugar and sea salt.
In this growing category, the naturally healthy aspects
of nuts and seeds, when paired with innovative flavors,
can weather the ups and downs of health trends.
