Eventually, David moved to Palos Verdes and, feeling settled and at home, soon found his own way in music by focusing on his solo composing and recording career. Over the past 25 years, he has created over 25 solo recordings that are considered influential classics in the genre he helped pioneer, Smooth Jazz. A five-time Grammy nominee for his remarkable contributions to contemporary jazz, he has arranged, conducted, and per- formed music for many popular pop and jazz artists over the years, including Kenny Loggins, Patti Austin, Faith Hill, Cece Winans, Brian McKnight and The Walt Disney Company. Amazingly versatile, David has also composed scores for popular film and television series. His most notable film scores include The Stars Fell on Henrietta, produced by Clint Eastwood and starring Robert Duvall, and The Christmas Tree, produced by Sally Field. His long associa- tion with Charles Schulz and his adored characters led to over ten years composing music for Peanuts TV specials on CBS. He has also written the themes for the long running ABC soap opera All My Children and NBC’s Sisters. In 2001, David began another chapter in his musical career when he was approached to become the Music Director of the Asia America Symphony Orchestra, dedicated to opening artistic and cultural borders throughout Southern California by 42 Luxury Life & Style May/June 2007
