SINGING THE BODY ELECTRIC AGING WITH STYLE AND GRACE Before being diagnosed with breast cancer at age 26, I had never given much thought to the topics of aging and plastic surgery. For my part, I merely viewed such efforts as a means to attain the physical “perfection” that is most commonly found in the media. My own double mastectomy, reconstructive surgery and subsequent treatment soon instigated a broadening of my perspective, however.
