ContractsAwarded Agency Awards End 2012 with a Flourish DECEMBER 2012 CONTRACTS Oahu Awards by Area (December) $50 $40 $30 $20 $10 Millions in dollars December brought a much-welcomed increase in agency awards to $41,315,319, mostly due to contracts by the Department of Education and the Department of Transportation in Honolulu that topped more than $12 million by each agency. For the month, agency awards more than doubled November’s total. The awards by eight agencies in December pushed the 2012 total of agency awards to $772,876,952. Contech Engineering, Inc.’s work on Kailua High School’s natural sciences lab building was the largest single contract in December, worth $6,689,818. Next was Robert’s Tours & Transportation, Inc., which had a $5,038,440 contract for the operation, maintenance and management of the intra-airport passenger transportation system at Honolulu International Airport. On Hawaii County, Isemoto Contracting Co., Ltd. handled three jobs totaling $5,007,501 in contracts. The biggest job was making improvement and building an addition to the Edith Kanakaole Multi-Purpose Stadium in South Hilo, which brought in $3,225,754.
