ContractsAwarded Are We There Yet? No need to hold your breath. The “turnaround” hasn’t arrived. Last year we were seeing hints of a recovery right about now but this year’s first quarter was like the weather; gloomy. With March producing only $17.3 million, the first quarter achieved bottom dweller status with $75,435,169 in awards, down 9.2 percent from last year’s unremarkable start. And at press time, April was still looking slow. Of course, there is reason to expect brighter days soon. Agencies will rush to spend their quota before the end of the fiscal year ends June 30. Won’t they?
