NAIOP Hawaii Presents Highest Honors NAIOP Hawaii, the local chapter of the nation’s only commercial real estate development association, held its annual Kukulu Hale Awards program on May 6 at The Royal Hawaiian. The awards recognize community contributions and accomplishments in Hawaii’s commercial real estate industry, including recognition for new and renovated commercial projects statewide. The 2011 Ku Hookela Award – the organization’s highest honor – was presented to both Lend Lease and Forest City, naming the two military housing development contractors as Developers of the Year. The late Herbert K. Horita was honored with the Holo Pono Award for Lifetime Achievement, and Belt Collins Hawaii was named Engineering Firm of the Year. Herbert K.
