NEWS MAKERS Wilson Joins PRP as Government Relations Manager P acific Resource Partnership (PRP), the Honolulu-based construction industry advocacy group representing contractors and union carpenters, has hired Brooke Wilson as government relations manager. G70 Adds Graphics Specialist Design firm Group 70 International (G70) has hired Silas Haglund as graphics and document specialist to provide marketing support for the firm. He will design, improve and streamline ads, and complete architectural renSilas Haglund derings, site plans, concepts, environmental assessments, environmental impact statements and other official documents for G70 and its clients. He is also responsible for updating and maintaining the company's website. Haglund, a Wisconsin native, previously was a graphics and production specialist for Black Sand Publishing in Honolulu. WCIT Adds Two Members Brooke Wilson Wilson most recently served as public relations and marketing manager at Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum. She was also director of communications at Skai Technologies and account supervisor at McNeil Wilson Communications. Wilson has worked at the Hawaii Community Foundation, Savin Corporation, Ricoh Corporation and the Hawaii State Legislature. Wilson will be responsible for managing PRP legislative relationships, as well as building alliances with community leaders and industry constituents. PRP has also hired Nancy Farinas as marketing and contractor services assistant. Hazel Go has joined the firm as project architect and David Paul Revak is a new project designer. Go previously worked at INK Architects as a project designer for Kamehameha Schools, including the Cooke Street Revitalization, Honolulu Night Market/Street Grindz, This Is It Bakery and Our Kakaako Info Center projects. Hazel Go Additional clients have included Samsung, Capital One, Bare Escentuals and Brooklyn Hotel. Revak was an associate at Handel Architects in New York. His prior architectural design projects include Millennium Place Boston, Flushing Park Natatorium and Rink Queens, Aria Condominiums Philadelphia, W Hotel Philadelphia, 3630 Peachtree Atlanta, Bliss Miami, David Paul Revak Under Armour Baltimore and Carolina Herrera City Center Las Vegas. McElroy Named to Oversee Construction at Highgate's Hotels Highgate Hotels has tapped Paul McElroy for vice president of construction. He will oversee renovations to the Highgate's Pacific Beach Hotel and the Ambassador Hotel in Waikiki. McElroy brings 13 years of hotel project management experience to this position. Prior to joining Highgate Hotels, McElroy was vice president of development at Trinity Investments, owner of the Paul McElroy Makena Beach & Golf Resort and recently The Kahala Hotel & Resort. Previously he served as vice president of design and construction for Kyo-ya Hotels & Resorts overseeing all major renovations and redevelopments at its four Waikiki properties, the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa and the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. Beginning in 2000 with Rider Levett Bucknall, a construction consulting firm, McElroy managed construction of the Grand Waikikian by Hilton Grand Vacations Club, restoration of the Hilton Hawaiian Village Lagoon, renovation of The Royal Hawaiian and development of Sheraton Waikiki's master plan.
