However, it is a strong indication of future work, and subcontractors can plan accordingly. GCA Early Bird Saves $100 The early bird entry deadline for the General Contractors Association of Hawaii Build Hawaii Awards program is Jan. 20. The entry fee for submissions received before or on this date is $250, a discount of $100 compared to the $350 entry fee for those received between Jan. 20 and Feb. 17, the final deadline for nominations. The competition is open to all GCA member companies in good standing. The projects must have been completed in 2011 and will be competing in the following categories: building construction (four subcategories based on contract value), highway construction (four subcategories based on contract value); residential (three subcategories based on contract value), specialty construction (three subcategories based on contract value), construction management, design-build/design-assist construction, environmental, federal construction, industrial, renovation/remodeling, and municipal and utilities construction.
