Rainwater can be collected in 51-gallon storage containers to be used for drip irrigation, and the 2.5-kW photovoltaic array was designed to supply about two-thirds of each home’s electricity needs. B eing environmentally sensitive has become ingrained in our everyday routines and has redefined, maybe forever, what motivates Hawaii builders to be energywise and incorporate “green” strategies into their projects.
