HRA Annual Hall of Fame HO'OKIPA PHOTOS BY CHANDRA LUCHETTI Dining with Hall of Famers The Hawaii Restaurant Association (HRA) held its Chefs of Aloha Dine-around and inducted seven new members into its Hall of Fame on Sept. 22. Approximately 400 members and guests attended the event, which was held at the Dole Cannery Center. Inducted at the HRA's eighth annual Hall of Fame event were Joey Cabell of Chart House Waikiki, Peter Canlis of Canlis Restaurant, Chuck Furuka of D.K. Restaurants, Tadao Nezu of Futaba Restaurant, the Sasaki family of Lihue Barbecue Inn, Alan Suzuki of Young's Market Co., Archie and Hifumi Tanaka of Archie's Restaurant and the Uchida family of Two Ladies Kitchen. The event showcased some of the Islands' leading chefs, including James Aptakin of Mac 24/7 at Hilton Waikiki Beach; Thomas Ho of 53 By the Sea, Freddie Billena of Pomaikai Ballrooms, Praseuth "JJ" Luangkhot of JJ Bistro & French Pastry, Ken Mackenzie of Morton's The Steakhouse, Danielle Jaffe of Hokulani Bakeshop, Jon Matsubara of Japengo at Hyatt Regency Waikiki, Vikram Garg of Halekulani, Marc Freiberg of Mariposa at Neiman Marcus and Joseph "JJ" Reinhart of Bali Steak and Seafood at Hilton Hawaiian Village.
