James Moore-morial race, New Zealand Hello paddling community, Thanks again for taking part in such a special event. Although conditions weren't perfect, a lot of fun was had out there. I have just seen the video from the Maketu entrance and saw all the carnage. Glad to see no one Mike Nuku was hurt. Thanks to Maketu Sea Rescue and Surf Club for Photos by Rebekka Still helping out. Special mention to Wayne Patterson for being the oldest paddler, 59 and still kicking it with the youth of today, paddling a hard 32km. Ash Roozendaal was the youngest paddler at 15 and finished a humbling 13th, while Rhei Pare, 17 years old, competed the course rudderless, finishing 43rd. Tony Loretz has been to every event and never been in any trouble. He conquers this challenge, and it's great to see him each year. Vesna was competing on the SUP; No one else was game enough to even attempt this. Well done and keep pushing for next year.
