Team Japan Outriggers in Japan from the "www" files of the Outrigger email newsletter list. Kon-nichi-wa to all who may have something to do with our outrigger movement in Japan so far... TKS to TODD and HOTU, we finally got the two outrigger canoes (OC-4). We've been doing some paddling and steering training every weekend. You might have noticed that our team mates were at Moloka'i Hoe this year, and they have finished 39th though we had such a short time to acquire decent paddling skills. At the end of the month, we are again sending men and ladies teams Team Japan made an solid first time attempt at outrigger paddling for the Micronesian Outrigger Cup in Guam and maybe to NZ in March. We will also try to form junior teams so by the next spring, we can take them with us when we travel the Pacific.
