THE PAST YEAR OF IMPORTANT
breast cancer science, research, and
advocacy culminates this week with
the latest and most cutting-edge
event in the field: The 2023 San
Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium®.
For the next five days, the SABCS®
will present clinical, translational,
and basic research for interaction,
communication, and education to a
wide spectrum of researchers, health
professionals, and those with a special
interest in breast cancer, including patient advocates and cancer survivors.
SABCS® has new offerings outside of the research presentations and
workshops, with an expanded Exhibit Hall, featuring new attendee amenities like
the Wellness Lounge, and the addition of child care for attendees' children ages
elcome to San
Antonio! To
attendees from
near and far, we are thrilled to have
you here for the 46th annual San
Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium®.
As co-directors of the Symposium,
it is an honor to host the preeminent
international scientific meeting
for breast cancer research. With
more than 9,000 attendees, both
in person and virtual, from more
than 100 countries, the SABCS® is a
destination for clinicians, researchers,
and advocates from around the globe,
all uniting for a common cause of
preventing and treating breast cancer
and, one day, finding a cure.
The 2023 SABCS® Program Planning
Committee has assembled a robust
program that brings together clinical,
translational, and basic research, with
a wide variety of topics relevant to
scientists, physician-scientists, clinical
investigators, breast care providers,
and patient advocates.
We are proud to showcase the
latest clinical trial results in the
field of breast cancer research,
proving once again that SABCS®
is the premier symposium in this
field. During three General Sessions
this week, you will hear about latebreaking
clinical trials from expert
researchers. These are among the
most talked-about sessions of the
Symposium, and you won't want to
miss them.
This year's program
offers an array of engaging, cutting-edge
workshops, special sessions, lectures,
and awards. The comprehensive lineup
includes the all-new State-of-the-Art
Sessions; Special Sessions on new drug
approvals, prevention and interception,
and social determinants of health; and
a wealth of educational sessions and
poster spotlights. SABCS® also provides
limitless opportunities to grow in the
field of breast cancer by networking with
colleagues, meeting mentors, and asking
questions and interacting with experts.
Our colleague Kate Lathrop, MD,
ex-officio member of the Executive
and Program Planning Committees,
will join us in providing a " Daily
Highlights " feature on the day's
upcoming sessions and events. Sign
up for daily Symposium emails at
SABCSMeetingNews.org and get the
highlights bright and early.
We want to thank the members of
the Executive, Program Planning and
Abstract Review Committees for their
unwavering dedication to and support
of the SABCS®. We would like to extend
a special thank you to the presenters,
moderators, sponsors, and exhibitors
for their time and expertise.
We believe in the significance of
SABCS®, because it creates a special
place for the important interactions and
exchanges between specialists in the
many disciplines devoted to improved
diagnosis and treatment of breast
cancer. We are happy you have joined us
for this exciting week of breast cancer
science, treatment, and advocacy! 
