Through the myUEG Community area, delegates
were able to meet and interact with colleagues,
experts, and mentors from across the globe,
all from the comfort of their own homes or
institutions.

UEG Week isn't only about
the science! Delegates
were provided with the
opportunity to take a break
and visit our dedicated
space to relax, unwind and
recharge.

A plethora of networking activities were on offer within the congress programme,
including initiatives to support career development and to help establish future
collaborations.
Female gastroenterologists were given opportunities to engage with leading
figures within the digestive health arena through live chat events. For young
gastroenterologists, interactive sessions were facilitated for delegates under
the age of 40 to provide them with the platform to gain advice from established
experts in various fields. Topics included how to professionalise CVs, how to
successfully apply for European grants and how to steer the perfect educational
journey.
The area also allowed attendees to ask questions directly to Joost P.H. Drenth,
UEG Journal Editor in Chief, along with other associate editors and authors
of previously accepted journal articles to gain unique insights, advice and
takeaways on submitting research for publication.
Within the Live Chat programme, UEG leaders and experts were online at
dedicated times to debate exciting topics and provide career advice.

There were three yoga sessions to choose
from and some delicious recipes to tuck into.
In addition, sightseeing tours of Vienna were
available to watch, including a personalised
video from the UEG office showcasing their
most loved spots around the city.
For some added fun, esteemed expert and
special guest Doc Anus organised a treasure
hunt around the virtual congress venue! There
were prizes aplenty, with Kristina Nimchenko
scooping up the top prize and earning a
free registration for UEG Week Vienna 2021.
