Delivering clinical information on digestive health with authority
UEG Journal sets the course for
an exciting future
UEG Journal publishes original research covering the entire
spectrum of digestive health. 2020 already began with the
achievement of a major milestone: UEG Journal was accepted
for indexing in MEDLINE, confirming its high quality and significantly
increasing the international recognition and reach of the
articles published in it. During the rest of the year, Editor-in-Chief
Joost PH Drenth and his editorial team were able to build on the
successes achieved so far and introduce new developments and
improvements.
The journal quickly grew in reach, scope, quality, and impact.
In 2020 the number of submitted articles increased rapidly,
exceeding 1,000. Authors also waited even fewer days to find out
if their submission was accepted. Once an article was published,
it benefitted from our growing readership and high download
numbers.
Keeping up with clinical developments during the pandemic
As healthcare professionals in clinical and research settings
faced new challenges and questions due to the COVID-19 outbreak,
UEG Journal published important lessons on how to manage
various aspects of the disease. We put out articles: addressing
the impact of COVID-19 on patients with inflammatory bowel
disease using biologicals, on how to interpret liver biochemistry
results in patients with COVID-19, and on what precautions and
measures are needed in the endoscopy suite, as well as other
coronavirus-related topics listed in the COVID collection.
