lost due to premature mortality and
419,672 years of healthy life lost due to
disability.

For many of these cancers, a high proportion of
age-standardised DALY rates are associated with
a range of modifiable risk factors, including high
BMI, alcohol and drug use and smoking, indicating
an urgent need for the adoption of effective
preventative strategies across Europe that focus on
driving positive lifestyle changes. This includes, for
example, strategies to target sedentary behaviour.
