Making research more appealing
This first issue of 2021 also marked a new beginning for UEG
Journal in the context of a new trainee editorial board, which
grew from six to ten members: seven specifically dedicated to
the support of Associate Editors in the selection of the best received
manuscripts, two acting in search-engine-optimisation to
improve the indexing of the submitted articles, and one as social
media editor to manage the UEGJournal Twitter account.

In this context, we have developed and refined our visual abstracts.
We are convinced that this format makes scientific content
more accessible and appealing to an even wider audience.
Finally, with the new podcast , we were able to offer yet
another way of communicating science and further strengthen
the UEG Journal brand. Each of the monthly podcast episodes
features one of the most important recently published articles,
and authors can convey the key message of their articles, such as
where the idea came from, how the study was designed and the
clinical significance of the results.

UEG Week Virtual 2021 also the place where Nicolas Richard was
awarded the 2020 Journal Best Paper Award
as first author
of the winning article " The effectiveness of rotating versus
