Methods: Distribution of research activity in the field of digestive health
The following search terms were used to search the MEDLINE database (via EBSCOhost) in
January 2022. Each research topic and digestive disorder search term was combined with a
human study search term filter12 to refine the results to human studies, e.g. (MH " Digestive
System Diseases+/ET " ) NOT ( (MH " Animals+ " ) NOT (MH " Humans " ) ).
