dations are placing a greater emphasis
on impact metrics: they want to be sure
the organizations they back are delivering
meaningful results. So, we need to
establish and implement impact metrics
to track our progress toward our goals
in partnership with the built community,
especially in the communities where we
have a significant footprint and membership.
While
the Americas will always be
a source of strength and membership
growth, we also have exciting expansion
opportunities in Europe and Asia. A new
ULI presence in countries like India, Indonesia,
Vietnam, and Thailand lies ahead.
These markets represent some of the
world's fastest-growing economies and
large high-growth infrastructure construction
markets. Our sustainability, housing,
and education missions are perfectly
aligned with the opportunities in these
markets. Further expansion across the
United Kingdom, Germany, France, Scandinavia,
and other European markets also
represents significant areas for membership
engagement and growth.
Over the next six months, I will continue
to split my time between experiencing
ULI around the world and working
from our headquarters in Washington,
D.C. I've spent the last 25 years of my
career learning and participating in the
real estate industry and look forward to
building even deeper perspectives and
relationships leading the Urban Land
Institute as global CEO.
If anything has surprised me since
taking this position, it has been the
magnitude of the impact ULI can achieve
in partnership with the real estate community
toward our collective missions.
We can create a more sustainable world
for our kids and grandkids, a more hospitable
world for everyone who needs
housing, and a workforce of the future
that is as diverse and inclusive as it can
possibly be. I am honored and pleased
