Much-loved Virgin America (virginamerica.com) has five weekly nonstop flights from San Francisco to Los Cabos and from both San Francisco and Los Angeles to Cancun. Clients in Tennessee now have a nonstop Saturday flight from Memphis to Mexico City with Delta Air Lines (delta.com), adding to seasonal flights to Cancun and Cozumel. JetBlue (jetblue.com) flies to Cancun from Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, New York JFK and Washington Dulles. And Volaris (volaris.com) just introduced flights from Guadalajara to Las Vegas and from Oakland to Mexico City, adding to existing routes that include Los Angeles to Morelia. Once in Mexico, visitors have tons of connecting options in Aeromar (aeromar.us), the once “business-only” airline that’s now increasing its presence in beach and tourist destinations. The airline recently expanded its alliance agreement with Continental to include code-sharing in 17 domestic routes to and from Mexico City. It is now flying to Acapulco and still offers convenient daily flights throughout the country, including from Mexico City to Morelia. Another option for clients once in Mexico is to hop on one of several luxurious bus services that travel around the country. This is a great way to enjoy a “local” experience while taking in the scenery around them. To get quickly to Cuernavaca, which is just about 60 miles away from Mexico City, they can ride on numerous deluxe buses from Turistar Lujo (etn.com.mx), taking full advantage of reclining seats, a welcome lunch, plasma screens and more. It’s also offering flights from Houston, Newark and Cleveland to Cancun. From its hub in Houston, Continental flies clients nonstop to Acapulco, Cancun, Ciudad del Carmen, Cozumel, Huatulco, Ixtapa, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Merida, Morelia, Oaxaca and Mexico City. From the East Coast, they can fly from Newark to Cancun, Acapulco and Cozumel among others. United Airlines (united.com), meanwhile, has added nonstops from LA, Chicago and San Francisco to Mexico City and now also offers daily service from Denver to Mexico City as well. It also offers daily flights from Washington Dulles to the Mexican capital.
