Aloft Tampa Downtown opens in July in a former Mercantile Bank building. For foodies, The Epicurean Hotel opened in December across the street from the world-famous Bern's Steakhouse. The 137-room hotel is heavily focused on food and wine. It will include Elevage restaurant with 80 seats, the rooftop bar Edge, and the Chocolate Pi patisserie. Bern's Fine Wines & Spirits will open on the first floor, and the Epicurean Theatre culinary classroom is perfect for group cooking demos. SARASOTA Sarasota County is currently undergoing an expansion phase while carefully maintaining its neighborly charm and pristine natural environment. This past year, The Francis multi-function event space opened in Downtown Sarasota with space for groups up to 250 pax. Additionally, The Mall at University Town Center will be completed this fall, offering 1 million sf of upscale shopping and dining. For an especially unique teambuilding opportunity, Nathan Benderson Park is a new 2,000-meter sprint rowing course that's scheduled to host the 2017 World Rowing Championships. Planners can create fun rowing competitions and educational sessions, or they can host a meeting or reception in the new Boathouse opening later this year.
