QUEENSTOWN Best known for its spectacular lake and alpine mountain scenery as well as adventure sports, Queenstown, located on the South Island, offers a wide array of teambuilding options, including the opportunity to see where the Lord of the Rings trilogy was filmed. Groups can jumpstart their Queenstown adventure with whitewater rafting or jet boating on the Shotover or Kawarau rivers. The Shotover River offers grade 3 to 5 rapids, while the gentler Kawarau River provides a more relaxed experience. History and film buffs will enjoy an off-roading experience in a 4WD vehicle with Nomad Safaris. A guide will lead six attendees per vehicle on a half-day tour of Queenstown's goldmining heritage or off-roading through Lord of the Rings film locations around Glenorchy and the Wakatipu Basin. Exploring nearby boutique vineyards via a drive through the striking Kawarau Gorge is another must for groups visiting Queenstown. Attendees can stop at the Kawarau Bridge-the site of the world's first commercial bungee jump-and take the plunge if they dare. Adrenaline junkies may also enjoy an exhilarating jet boat safari into the Dart River and Mount Aspiring National Park. More lowkey options include taking in the views on a scenic helicopter flight over Lake Wakatipu, a visit to historic Arrowtown or an afternoon of golf at Millbrook Resort. prevue center stage / New Zealand CHRISTCHURCH Known as The Garden City for its parks, open spaces and tree-lined streets, Christchurch is the largest city on New Zealand's South Island and is located in the Canterbury Plains. It serves as a base for convening with nature, exploring the Tasman Glacier or whale watching at Kaikoura as well as boasting its own old-world charm with beautiful botanical gardens. Attendees should start their time in Christchurch visiting the city's botanic gardens on the banks of the Avon River. To get out on the water, attendees can take a traditional water gondola down the river from the nearby Antigua Boat sheds. A hotair balloon ride over Canterbury is another way to start off a day in The Garden City, overlooking the Canterbury Plains. Groups can also take a boat tour with Glacier Explorers to observe the Tasman Glacier up close in its transition from towering ice cliffs to lake. The glacier's floating icebergs are always on the move, and the boat passes so close that attendees can almost touch them. These are just some of the amazing opportunities offered in New Zealand.
