A red carpet experience at one of the entertainment industry's awards

T
he group has been envisioning
this day since the first promotion
hit their desks months ago: a red
carpet awards experience in L.A.,
complete with evening gowns, champagne,
celebrities and tickets to the show. Whether
it's the Grammys or the Emmys, it's a
bucket list experience, guaranteed.
"Only in Los Angeles can groups
elevate their events into red carpet galas at
a variety of prestigious award show venues,"
says Darren K. Green, SVP of sales for the
Los Angeles Tourism & Convention
Board. "There's no other destination where
you can re-create historic moments in
entertainment history or bask in the same
atmosphere as the world's biggest stars."

THE BUZZ BUILDS
The excitement is palpable as awards day
gets closer. The night before the show,
attendees receive a gift bag in their rooms
with nail polish, sunglasses and stylish
accessories. On the big day, a leisurely al
fresco champagne brunch is followed by
massages, mani/pedis, facials, make-up
sessions and perhaps a blow-out and updo
at one of L.A.'s many blow-dry bars. Or,
the hotel can arrange a suite and bring the
pampering in-house, along with an elegant
spread of mimosas and small bites.
In sparkling evening attire, attendees
enter the buzzing hotel lobby as selfies
are taken, a group shot is arranged, and
everyone is transferred to limos or coaches
and whisked away to L.A. Live-and the
beginning of their red carpet experience.
Different awards programs have different
red carpet set-ups. At the Emmy Awards,
for example, attendees walk into the theater
where media outlets are positioned on one
side and the fans are behind a barricade on
the other. At the American Music Awards,
those with a VIP pass can explore the red
carpet at their leisure. Either way, they're sure
to hear shrieks as a star is ushered by on the
way to an interview, and everyone whispers
excitedly about who they just spotted.
