Meeting in the Northeast sets the bar
high when it comes to luxury. Whether
that means a tour of the castles that dot
the Hudson River in Westchester County
topped off by an elegant lunch, or one of
the signature chocolate spa treatments
at the Hotel Hershey in Pennsylvania, the
possibilities are endless. In Atlantic City,
attendees can explore designer outlets at
The Walk, topped off by an evening event
in 40 climate-controlled gondolas on the
new Observation Wheel, 272 ft above
the skyline. In Baltimore's Inner Harbor,
charters of the Spirit of Baltimore come
with more than a few surprises, while
in Rochester, the perfect way to end a
meeting is a tasting of the award-winning
"ice wines" at Casa Larga Vineyards on
Canandaigua Lake.

Known for its old-fashioned Boardwalk
and summer fun, Atlantic City also has an
elegant side that is getting attention from
the well-heeled corporate meeting and
incentive crowd. A highlight was the city's

recent hosting of Meeting Professionals
International's WEC. Sandi Harvey, VP
of sales for Meet AC, is excited about
the prospects when it comes to events.
"Atlantic City's diversification continues
to grow the meetings and conventions
segment-whether it's a meeting or event
for 40 to 40,000."
The 800-room Water Club at the
Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa embodies
Atlantic City sophistication and is the first
stop for attendee pampering. Its exquisite
spa, Immersion, sits high above the city,
offering sweeping ocean and skyline views.
Its focal point is a two-lane, 80-ft infinityedge lap pool with panoramic views through
floor-to-ceiling glass panels. Signature
services include a 100-minute "Javanese
Lulur Bath Ritual," which starts with a
Balinese massage and ends with a soak
in a Japanese-style hinoki tub infused with
essential oils. Chic and cosmopolitan, the
800-room tower also features butler service,
designer boutiques and food and beverage
by Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian, as well as
18,000 sf of meeting space.

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa,
adjacent to the Water Club, recently
unveiled an $11 million 18,000-sf
conference center with two stories of event
space, including a 6,500-sf ballroom.
Another conference center, this one at the
924-room Resorts Casino Hotel, added
12,500 sf of conference space in 12 new
meeting rooms, creating a total of 64,000
sf of space in 24 meeting rooms, many of
which have ocean views.

experience with an unconventional venue
that is roomy, full of possibility and fun. The
Pool After Dark offers up to 2,000 attendees
an after-hours or between-meetings
nightclub with poolside DJs and VIP bottle
service, not to mention VIP balcony tables
at The Loft that overlook the action, LED
walls for projecting corporate messaging
and a new gaming pit for the ultimate team
building competitions. This summer's debut
of Gordon Ramsay Steak, an acclaimed
