Mount Rushmore National Memorial or
take in the world's largest mountain carving
in progress at the Crazy Horse Memorial,
honoring the history and heritage of the
Native Americans. VIP access to the top
of the mountain is also available, and
attendees can be inspired by a Native
American performance.
The historic Old West gaming town
of Deadwood in the Black Hills can
accommodate everything from executive
retreats to full-scale conventions. Groups can
enjoy over 80 historic gaming halls and nightlife
establishments, or explore Wild West history
with a bus tour and trip to Mt. Moriah Cemetery
to hear tales of legendary gunslingers Wild Bill
Hickok and Calamity Jane.

Other activities at Terranea center around
its seaside ecosystem, such as a kelp clean
up, where groups can take part in a coastal
kayak tour while cleaning up trash that gets
trapped in the kelp forest. During the month
of April, the resort donates money from every
kayak trip to local nonprofit organizations,
such as Heal the Bay. Or groups can take
guided nature walks with a naturalist to learn
about the Palos Verdes Peninsula's local
ecosystem and Terranea's environmental
efforts. Terranea has 360 rooms located in
oceanfront bungalows, casitas and villas, as
well as 60,000 sf of meeting space, including
an 18,000-sf ballroom.
