S

panning 600 acres on the picturesque island of New
Providence in Nassau, the marriage of modern luxury
with warm Bahamian service at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar,
the first of three luxury hotel brands to open in the much
anticipated Baha Mar resort destination, make for a memorable
group experience and an attractive all-inclusive location for
meetings and incentives.
All of the property's 1,800 guest rooms get a slice of this view
via balconies that overlook the beach, pools or surrounding nature.
The property's 200,000 sf of indoor and outdoor meeting space
is also nautical themed. Groups will also want to check out The
Current, an arts hub with workshops, lectures and exhibitions, for
an on-site experience of the island. And herein lies the essence of
Grand Hyatt Baha Mar: local luxury.

THE EXPERIENCE
At The Sanctuary, groups can participate in the feeding of sharks,
turtles and other sea animals. If swimming with sharks is a to-do for
your group, here they will have an opportunity to don a snorkel and
mask to get up close and personal.
Groups can unwind in a 30,000-sf spa sanctuary that offers
tailored treatments-whether luxury facials or massages with
heated seashells and aromatherapy oils-or on the sprawling
greens of an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed course staffed by the
best golf pros in The Bahamas.
"We change tee positions daily," says golf pro Andy Dorso,
"so that groups visiting over the course of a few days can enjoy a
different golf experience each time they play."

AND THEN THERE'S THE FOOD
Rumor has it that the best burger on the island is served at
the Royal Blue Tavern restaurant, and Executive Chef Brent
Martin continues this top-notch culinary experience across all of
the property's restaurants. Our group got a sampling during a
Moroccan sunset-themed dinner with casbah-style seating, food
served in tagines and a range of delicious dishes. As we ate, we
were entertained by a fire dancer and local musicians. Our evening
culminated in a spectacular Bellagio-style light on water show.
A range of themed events also take place at the six-bedroom
villa, Villa Roxy and 23 one- and two-bedroom private villas are set
to open at the property this November.

BAHA MAR
A 100,000-sf casino with views of Cable Beach and the property's
sparkling pools-swim-up bar, rainfall cabanas, pool butlers and
secluded grottos to boot when including the forthcoming Baha Mar
additions: Rosewood and SLS hotels-greeted us on arrival. A
plus for planners is the Baha Mar Convention Arts & Entertainment
Center, which serves all three properties as one of the biggest
centers in the Caribbean. As Baha Mar continues to open in stages
through the end of 2018-Rosewood Baha Mar offering 200
rooms and suites with oceanfront views and SLS Baha Mar offering
300 rooms and 100 residences-one of the most anticipated
developments is a private island, which will be available to host
groups of up to 1,200 for events and other private functions.
