Recommend December 2015 - (Page 8)

editor's notes That's me on board the new Norwegian Escape. Wow! This December issue is on fire, with a breadth of exciting travel choices. As our cover line says-tour, hotel, air and cruise options are expanding worldwide. We've jam-packed this last issue of 2015 with a treasure trove of new product for you to sell in 2016, including an array of new ships sailing on maiden voyages-that's me on the new Norwegian Escape, by the way, and I've got the entire scoop on this new ship on page 16. We've also got an onboard review on Anthem of the Seas (page 14), as well as great intel on all the new ships debuting this coming year and into 2017-on the open sea and along the world's riverways (page 12). For those clients who prefer to stick close to land, whether it's a beachfront resort or touring a far-flung destination, the following pages are brimming with information that will certainly add to your bottom line-new tours abound and there's plenty of new air service to get your clients where they want to be. In Mexico (page 65), there are so many hotels opening up-from Los Cabos to Cancun-that it's hard to keep count, while in Europe (page 18), we've got info on a sprinkling of countries, including Italy, which, incidentally, won big in Recommend's Readers' Choice Awards. Speaking of which, this is the issue in which we announce the winners of our annual Readers' Choice Awards. Needless to say, the winners in all the categories-from Best Tour Operator and Sexiest Destination to Best AllInclusive Resort and Best River Cruise Line-are tops in your mind not only because they cater to you and understand the importance of partnering with travel agents, but because they think outside the box and create a product that speaks to today's worldly travelers. Did your favorite destination, hotel, tour operator win big this year? Let me know after you check out the full list of winners on page 14.-Paloma Villaverde de Rico saint lucia travel agent specialist program In this issue, on page 19, you'll find the 36-page Saint Lucia Travel Agent Specialist Program-a refresh to the current program that has been hosted by Recommend for the past few years. If you have already taken the exam and are a registered Saint Lucia Specialist, you do not need to retake the program, although you might want to look through it to get up-to-date information on the hotels, restaurants, and flight information to the island. For those who have not taken the course, also available at edu.recommend. com/saintlucia, you'll find plenty of information on this "simply beautiful" island's offerings and once you pass the 20-question exam and become a Saint Lucia Specialist, you'll qualify to participate in the P.A.S.S. (Preferred Agent Saint Lucia Specialist) incentive program, offering FAM trips and numerous other benefits based on recorded bookings.
