Fairmont Ups the Ante
property in Nashville. This independent
luxury hotel is the only property in Tennessee
that has an active member of Les Clefs d'Or
Concierge on staff, and also the only fourstar, four-diamond property in the city.
According to Jonathan Bartlett, general
manager, "Hutton Hotel is Nashville's
touchstone for boutique hospitality-priding
themselves in creating personalized authentic
experiences for all guests." Adding that,
"The soon-to-be freshly renovated standout
property anchors the increasingly desirable
Midtown area. Newly welcomed chef
Christopher Anderson ups the culinary ante
bringing with him big-city tested caliber
and a menu that promises to attract local
diners and guests alike." Bartlett tells us that,
"this fall Hutton will welcome a brand new
intimate venue designed to become a hub for
the inspired traveling community, along with
locals looking to engage in highly curated
experiences and live performances."
In true Nashville fashion, there are two
Writer's Rooms on property, designed by wellknown singer/songwriters Dierks Bentley and
Ryan Tedder, that serve as areas for guests to
get inspired, write lyrics and lay down demos.
In other words, a must-stay for that budding
musician on your roster, or music aficionado
who might want to scope out the scene.
The Writer's Rooms are equipped for four
to five people at a time, and every inch of the
room is designed to capture music whenever
inspiration strikes. Since it's Nashville, where
country music reigns, these room are designed
with isolation closets for guitars, a closet that
functions as a vocal booth, and even the
effects and designs of the walls are designed
for recording. There's also a shared kitchen
and common area to spark collaboration,

where musicians can grab juice, a beer, or a
snack and chat with others-possibly
striking inspiration.
Humans aren't the only ones that get
pampered on property. "Personalized service
also extends to pets, with furry friends treated
like royalty," says Bartlett. The hotel also
features a Tesla courtesy vehicle, servicing
within a 3-mile radius. Rates range from $459
for Deluxe guestroom to $519 for a suite, and
$3,500 for the Penthouse East.

Chef Creations
The Dupont Circle, part of The Doyle
Collection, located in Washington, D. C.,
is offering guests a just-released, luxe dining
experience. The Suite Private Chef Experience,
offers Level Nine suite guests a table setting
in their suite or on their private balcony,
pre-dinner bubbly, their own private chef
experience, and a personalized 3-course
menu with a bottle of wine. The chef
whips up a seasonal-inspired 3-course meal
tableside, and describes the wine pairing and
culinary inspiration. For this offer, guests also
receive a choice of Aromatherapy Associates
products, late check-out, and a guest
relations coordinator to customize every part
of their Private Chef Experience.
General manager Mark Roche-Garland
says, "Washington has some wonderful hotels
so we are really kept on our toes." Adding
that, "Our Level Nine suite experience is truly
unique within Washington. Overlooking
the historic Kalorama and Georgetown
neighborhoods, we have created a private
residence within the hotel that is the
perfect location."
Location isn't the only thing that takes
this property over the top. "It is our service

Fairmont has an array of updates and
renovations to report. This past July,
Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth in Montreal
re-opened after a $140 million transformation
with updated guestrooms, suites and common
spaces. Available to guests is Suite 1742, site
of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Bed-In for
Peace. The Fairmont Empress in Victoria
underwent a 2-year, $60 million restoration
and reopened this past June with a renovated
health club and pool, a refreshed Willow
Stream Spa, and 229 updated guestrooms.
The 413-guestroom Fairmont Washington,
D.C. in Georgetown went through a $27
million renovation and reopened offering
seven suites versus the previous five. The
Fairmont Royal York in Toronto reopened
in July after a multi-million dollar restoration
that touched its 450 guestrooms, pool and
health club (common spaces are also getting
a facelift); and Fairmont Olympic in
Seattle also completed a $25 million
renovation in July.
Renovations aren't the only thing in
the pipeline as there will also be two
new openings-Fairmont Austin and
Fairmont Century Plaza, Los Angeles. The
1,048-guestroom Fairmont Austin, set to
open late fall 2017, is directly connected to
the Austin Convention Center and will offer
views of Lady Bird Lake, the cityscape, and
the State Capitol. The new property will
feature five onsite dining and bar options,
a spa, and will engage guests in the city's
bustling music scene. The Fairmont Century
Plaza will reopen in 2018 after going through
a $2.5 billion redevelopment. ■
