Stylish guestrooms offer to-die-for views and high-end amenities. HOTEL BEAux ArTs F miami onsite review march 2011 paloma villaverde de rico Fabulous comes in different forms for different people, but there’s no denying that the Hotel Beaux Arts Miami—located in the city’s buzzing downtown area—is anything but the epitome of fabulous. Check this out! This seductive property encompasses only 44 rooms and suites spread out on the 38th, 39th, and 40th floors in the very new and hot-trotting JW Marriott Marquis Miami—one of Downtown Miami’s newest and glossiest glass skyscrapers—offering views from the guestrooms’ floor-to-ceiling windows that leave you breathless as you scan the glittering cityscape and shimmering Biscayne Bay. Throw in ultra-plush accommodations—with every detail having been meticulously scrutinized down to the selective art books—complemented by cutting-edge technology that will blow most any techie’s mind, and this editor can honestly say, she was taken to new heights, both literally and figuratively, at the Hotel Beaux Arts Miami. The hotel itself says it best, it’s “luxury, evolved.” “v.i.p.” experience From start to finish, the guest experience at the Hotel Beaux Arts Miami—a new luxury brand within the JW Marriott Collection—is pampering at its finest. Guests arriving at the first floor hotel lobby are immediately whisked up to the 39th floor for a very private and personalized check-in experience, where drinks are offered—and taken, of course— before a private escort takes guests to their divine accommodations, pointing out the en-suite technological gadgets that are on-hand (these “instructions” are a must so that the stay is seamless). The rooms in this “hotel within a hotel” are dizzying, not only because of their bird’s-eye views of the city, but also because of their luxury trappings. Think Bang & Olufsen in-room entertainment featuring re20 october 2011 mote-controlled video and sound systems—indeed, it’s the first hotel in Florida to be entirely outfitted with this kind of technology; 40- or 55-inch HD-LCD flat-screen TVs; and a customized iPad for ordering room service (guests can even see pictures of the food before it gets to their room, so they know what they’re ordering), ringing housekeeping, making dinner reservations and checking out all of the area’s cool happenings—a virtual concierge, if you will. There’s also an illy espresso maker and an iPod docking station. When it’s time for lights off—although that’s difficult to fathom in a city like Miami where midnight is only for early-birds—guests control the drapery with a remote control, order from a pillow menu and get comfy in Anichini bedding. The bathrooms, too, are an oasis, with imported Italian marble, touch-controlled illuminated faucets, mirror-embedded TVs, as well as separate shower and tub—all topped off with delicious Molten Brown toiletries. The room decor itself is also a departure from the usual ho-hum, with Brazilian cherry hardwood floors complemented by chic area rugs, as well as bold white wall panels that capture the reflection of the room— adding to the general feeling of openness of the accommodations— sparkling white sofas, and sleek black chairs. All accenting lounge-like en-suite living rooms. Bedrooms are more subdued, with wood playing a key role, although no less playful. Another perk hotel guests will love is the L’Atelier, the common space for Hotel Beaux Arts Miami guests and serving a delicious complimentary European breakfast. a decadent feast…and then some Although we swooned when we were privately escorted to our corner jr. suite, we went absolutely head over heals when we dined at chef Daniel
