MAILBAG
PHENOMENAL PHOTO ISSUE
I just had the great pleasure of carefully
looking through the February 2021 photo issue.
The photographs featured within are absolutely
remarkable, each one more amazing than the next.
Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you
to all the special photographers who share their art
with us.

WELL DONE ON GRIZZLY BEAR ISSUE
Thank you for the wonderful issue of the December
2020 magazine. It was by far the most comprehensive
publication I have seen regarding the grizzly bear and
the conservation challenges and successes. I hope
management of the grizzly will be turned over to
the Wyoming Game and Fish Department in the
near future. As the many articles point out, it is well
overdue, and the right thing for the bears and people.
I am a proponent of conservation, and also a hunter
who advocates for the important role that hunting
provides in successful conservation efforts. Everyone
who contributed to this publication should be proud.
Well done, and thank you.

CHRISTMAS CARDS RESPONSE
This is in response to Fritz Menninig's mailbag
question regarding Christmas cards. I have been
sending gift subscriptions to friends and family across
the nation for well over a decade in lieu of Christmas

cards. Trust me, it lasts a lot longer than a card. Plus,
Wyoming Wildlife sends a card out to let them know
who it came from.

WORTH THE PURCHASE
Per the article titled, " The ever-present threat " in
the January 2021 issue of Wyoming Wildlife, one item
I think every person who visits the wild places should
also carry is an emergency beacon device.
Calculate the expense of your endeavor and you
will see the price is minimal when you consider your
life and all the other equipment and their cost. I
bought one for my daughter who is regularly in the
out of the way places working.

GREAT Q&A ON ELK DRAW
I want to compliment Sara DiRienzo on the good
Q&A in the January 2021 magazine on the Wyoming
elk draw.
You explained vividly all aspects of how licenses
are issued to residents and nonresidents. The article
was so good that I saved it. I hunted in Wyoming
since 1954 and until I was 88 years old in Albany and
Converse counties. My wife, Doris, hunted with me.
I am now 93 and I gave this article to my grandson
for him to keep.
