SECOND PLACE Frosted leaves Southern Wyoming Eric Coates | Casper, Wyoming Nikon D2X: 1/350 sec, f/5.6, ISO 100 I love to hike and photograph in Wyoming's forests. Over the years I found a bit of fog and frost transform our forests from beautiful to magical. For a photographer, these conditions make it easier to focus on the subject, like an aspen leaf in its fall glory, and make it distinct from all the other leaves. Whenever the weather forecast predicts what I call " good weather, " I am up before dawn and ready to go out. And though I love to photograph on these mornings - and am blessed to be able to share pictures like this - the truth is, being out on days like the one on which I took this image is what I enjoy most. I hope the same is true for you. We are graced with an amazing state that I encourage you to experience and appreciate the beauty of every day. Wyoming Wildlife | 49
