REALLY LIKED RARE CARNIVORES
What a nice surprise to read " Tracking the
Rarest Carnivores " in the March 2021 magazine
by two University of Wyoming research scientists.
It was great to showcase the excellent University
of Wyoming Museum of Vertebrates, explain the
important role museum collections play in preserving
and holding valuable information and the role they
play in public education and outreach. Most of
all, I loved reading about the rarest of carnivores
in Wyoming, and I can only hope to encounter
one someday.

CORSI DESERVES RECOGNITION
Although it's approaching three years since Rex
Corsi last contributed to Wyoming Wildlife, and
that notably at 91-years-young, his recognition
for contributions to this magazine and to the
entire Wyoming Game and Fish Department are
particularly appropriate now as the former iconic
chief game warden passed away July 6, 2020, at 93.
Rex and I became friends during the four years

our careers overlapped. But we really became close
the last 10 years with his eager, insightful and
genuinely amazing recollection and collaboration
with the historic page/column of Wyoming Wildlife.
Terry Cleveland, who served under Rex as a game
warden and district supervisor and who later was
director of Game and Fish from 2003-08, said Rex
was the " father of modern wildlife management in
Wyoming. "
There's considerable more tributes and reflections
Rex deserves. More is available by looking up his
2012 induction into the Wyoming Outdoor Hall
of Fame on the internet.

REED KEEPS MEMORIES ALIVE
I've been a subscriber to Wyoming Wildlife for
over 30 years, since I first visited Wyoming on a
deer hunt. Years after that my wife and I enjoyed our
two-week vacation fishing and camping throughout
Wyoming and the adjoining states.
Tom Reed's articles always rekindle my love for
Wyoming and the memories of time spent close to
nature. Now that we are 75-plus years old, our trips
are rare and numbered, but Wyoming Wildlife and
Tom's articles give us a rebirth in spirit and awaken
our good memories. Please keep Tom's writings
coming.
