Fundraising Through Crisis

This is the future of golf fundraisers, and it is something major
national nonprofits have cultivated through decades of year-overyear growth of their signature, distinguished golf events.

DATA COLLECTION, ACCESSIBLE
INFORMATION AND EASY
COLLABORATION
The right technology contributes to time savings, better
data management, and easier collaboration across
teams through all-around cleaner processes. The golf
event is unique in that its seemingly small
details are essential. How will the event be
flighted? Where will player handicaps
be collected, and how will they be
considered? Will there be tee times
or hole assignments? How will
players be paired, and which
teams will they play next to?
These are all important details
that can be easily overlooked-
especially if the event organizer
doesn't have extensive golf
knowledge.
In the time of COVID, these
considerations have been extremely
important to the overall safety of the
outing and the contact points they cause
or prevent. Outside of COVID, these details can
mean the difference between frustrated participants
and happy ones.
Organizers are using web-based event management
technology specific to the golf outing to track all this
information. With online registration, organizations are
able to not only capture player and sponsor data at the
time of registration, but access it in a central location
so information about team pairings, hole assignments,
and other items specific to the event is always current
for committees, volunteers and even for the staff at the
golf facility who must prepare to welcome golfers for a
smooth and successful outing.

SMART TECH ALL AROUND
These clever innovations may have enabled many
organizations, large and small, to safely and successfully
carry out their golf events, but they also present new
opportunities. When organizations-even those simply
benefitting from events run by third parties-have a
window into the donors and sponsors supporting their
outing, the value of the golf event is compounding. It
becomes a fundraiser, an outreach effort, and a way to
steward donor relationships and court potential sponsors
through their affluent and influential networks.
This is the future of golf fundraisers,
and it is something major national
nonprofits have cultivated through
decades of year-over-year
growth of their signature,
distinguished golf events.
Today's technology makes it
possible for organizations
large and small to launch a
first-time outing; grow an
existing outing or maximize
an already successful event by
streamlining processes; easing
pain points; providing sleek and
professional sponsorship options;
and securely and responsibly collecting
the right information at the right time. It
will make these events better for players, sponsors,
event organizers and the nonprofits they benefit.
GolfStatus.org-the charitable giving arm of golf technology
