RECOVERY
Natural disasters can wreak
havoc on your railroad if you're
not prepared

usinesses don't expect to be victims
of a hurricane, tornado, earthquake,
wildfire or severe winter storm. Yet,
the United States is experiencing more

weather-related incidents or not, you can't
ignore the phenomenon. The best tool in
your arsenal is an emergency preparedness

States are prone to different specific
weather repercussions. Earthquakes top the
list for the West, hurricanes hammer the
South, tornadoes rip through the Midwest
and lengthy snowstorms hit most of the
Northeast. Any area can be subject to
wildfires, and flooding is also universal.
"We have locations all over the country,
so we don't just have a single plan," said
