hile preparing to write this
column, I looked back to the
one I wrote last March for the
May/June 2020 issue of AE. We
PATIENT
were in the throes of the
EXPERIENCE
Is the New Marketing
COVID-19 pandemic. Although
fear and uncertainty were
underlying themes throughout the country,
OUR JOURNEY TOWARD
A " BETTER NORMAL "
that AE column focused on the goodness,
BROKEN BUSINESS
compassion, and resiliency of the human
RELATIONSHIPS
spirit and the unsung heroes among us.
Fast forward to March 2021. Multiple
COVID-19 vaccines have been approved; millions are being administered
each day. State-mandated restrictions are easing. COVID-19 cases and
hospitalizations are decreasing, and though variants are emerging, vaccines
have been effective against these mutations. Schools are re-opening and
spring is here. Hope and optimism are gradually replacing last year's fear
and uncertainty. The human spirit is still alive and well.
The ASOA community-like-minded practice managers and administrators who share passion, knowledge, camaraderie, and a commitment
to exceptional patient care-is also alive and well. Despite 2020's
challenges, ASOA members have supported one another and demonstrated the qualities and adaptability that define leadership. They have
turned obstacles into opportunities while continuing to navigate choppy
COVID-19 waters and position their practices for success.
These are brighter days. ASOA is pleased to welcome our members
and colleagues to our in-person 2021 Annual Meeting, July 23-27th in
Las Vegas, in conjunction with ASCRS. Besides sharing in the exceptional education ASOA is known for, we are excited to see familiar faces
(and meet new ones), learn about challenges and solutions, explore
new technologies and best practices, and learn from one another as we
continue to move forward. Diverse programming, including leadership
and strategic management, marketing and business development, risk
management and compliance, reimbursement, and human resources,
offers something for everyone and is more important than ever.
Hope and optimism: Let these words be our guiding vision.
We hope to see you in Las Vegas!
