EARLY LESSONS
"I started with Calumet during the summers of 2005-07 while I
was in college, working in both maintenance and manufacturing. Then, I started as an entry-level salesperson for Calumet
in January 2009. I completed an extensive training process
in which I learned the business from many different aspects
before I started calling on customers.
"The first thing that comes to mind when I think of ILMA and
the lubricants industry is relationships. I quickly recognized
the importance of relationships in this industry early in my career, and I continue to rely on them daily. I have enjoyed meeting and working with so many great people over the years."
GOOD FOOD, GOOD TIMES
"I'll say that I have had some memorable experiences visiting
with customers over the years that typically involve dinner and
a beverage or two. One of my favorite ILMA travel experiences
was in Miami. Calumet hosted our dinner event on a cruise
ship that navigated the bay, and we had a great time with our
customers in a beautiful setting."
FAMILY AND FUN
"I cherish family trips and activities with my wife, Kerri, 3-yearold son, Brady, and 1-year-old daughter, Brielle. Golf is my
favorite hobby, and I enjoy my golf league with my brother,
Brent, during the summer."
DAD THE ROLE MODEL
"My dad, John Banach, has been the most influential mentor to
me. He was my boss for over 10 years, and he taught me the
business. My dad spent almost 50 years working for Calumet
before retiring last year, so he had a lot of knowledge to share.
I have a lot of great memories with my dad at Calumet, whether it was making joint sales calls, debating business topics in
the office or just grabbing lunch together."

"Sports was a big part of my life as a child. Playing and
learning within the framework of a team taught me valuable lessons. Also, there was plenty adversity to experience
growing up playing competitive sports. Learning how to work
through adversity at a young age was great experience to get
me ready for adult life!"
STRANDED WITH THE BOSS
"Maybe the most embarrassing/funny thing that happened
to me: The president of Calumet was in town (Chicago) for
a meeting. Afterward, I planned a boat ride into downtown
Chicago for dinner, which included the president. We made it
downtown, parked my boat and had dinner, but upon return
to my boat, the engine would not start. We were stranded
without a ride home, so I was forced to call my brother to pick
us up. What was supposed to be a fun evening turned into a
very embarrassing situation!"
