PERSPECTIVE What has been the greatest challenge during the pandemic for you and your business? "Managing inventory, supply chain and staffing levels during this period of uncertain demand has been a big challenge. Some of our supply chains have been disrupted or experienced demand shocks as business responded to surging market segments in the pandemic, such as hand sanitizer. We are all looking forward to more market stability in the second half of 2020." "For me, the biggest challenge has been the new 'balance.' Working from home is not new - been doing this for years. Working from home with a spouse that also works from home and having two children under 3 running around the house while coordinating conference calls with numerous customers - that has been the biggest challenge. The general attitude is one to the tune of 'This is the new norm, we get it, no worries about the little sweet voice in the background.' I believe that we are all wanting to be in front of our customers, continuing to build upon a rock-solid relationship and developing sales efforts that result in profitable results. "For my company, I must say that they have done an amazing job ensuring that [personal protective equipment] was provided early, that there was clear communication throughout this whole episode. I take pride in the fact that our chairman would reach out to the company weekly to express what the company is doing and a need for solidarity to get through these unprecedented times."
