SLICK FACT Driving Digital Two recent manufacturing surveys highlight the state of digital marketing in manufacturing. The results offer insight into what manufacturers are doing in the digital arena and how they are planning to improve digital efforts. According to research firm InRiver's Driving Digital Commerce in Manufacturing report, 96% of manufacturers reported that their organizations must get products to market faster than last year. On top of that, according to PwC's recent Manufacturing COO Pulse Survey, 66% of manufacturers consider implementing digital marketing and sales over the next two years as a business priority. That survey also found that some business-to-business manufacturers are planning to boost e-commerce sales growth from almost nothing today to 60% over the next several years. All of these findings indicate a desire for and push toward digital solutions that drive profitability and efficiency, as the skyrocketing growth in e-commerce during the COVID-19 pandemic is projected to be sustained. How lubricant manufacturers progress digitally will be key to adapting in today's fast-paced marketplace.
