CHEVRON PHILLIPS CHEMICAL
ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF PAO
CAPACITY AT ITS CEDAR BAYOU
PLANT
Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. LP
(Chevron Phillips Chemical) has
announced that it has successfully completed a low-viscosity polyalphaolefins
(PAO) capacity expansion at its Cedar
Bayou plant in Baytown, Texas.
The 20 percent capacity expansion
enables the company to meet the increasing demand for high-performance
lubricants in automotive and industrial applications. Chevron Phillips
Chemical is a leader in the development and production of PAOs, marketed under the brand name Synfluid®
PAO, which are used for a variety of
applications, including engine oils,
gear oils and greases.
The project improves process safety
and overall unit efficiencies while reducing waste generation for Cedar Bayou's PAO unit. The feedstock for the
new unit will be provided from Cedar
Bayou's recent 100,000-metric-tonsper-year expansion of its normal alpha

olefins capacity. Construction began in
April 2016 and supported up to 135
construction and engineering jobs.
RELADYNE ACQUIRES WESTERN
MARKETING INC.

RelaDyne officially closed on its
acquisition of Western Marketing Inc.,
a leading regional distributor of petroleum products based in Abilene, Texas.
The transaction is an enormous gain
for RelaDyne's geographical footprint
and market share and is a positive
portfolio expansion for the Western
Marketing customers.

the right next step for Western Marketing," said Robert Sullivan, Western
Marketing CEO. "As we forged our
partnership with RelaDyne, I have

RelaDyne continues to be the
"Acquirer of Choice" in the lubricants,

acquisition of Western Marketing
Inc. is the largest acquisition to date
for RelaDyne," said RelaDyne Chief
Strategy Officer Jeff Hart, who leads
RelaDyne's mergers and acquisition

ADDS DAVID BREITIGAM TO
LEADERSHIP TEAM
American Refining Group Inc. (ARG)
has added David Breitigam to its leadership team as vice president of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
Breitigam comes to ARG from
Marathon Petroleum Co., where
he spent 12 years in its EHS ranks
and was eventually named corporate
refining health, environmental, safety
and security manager. He also brings
experience as Innovene Inc.'s (formerly BP Chemicals) senior industrial
