NLGI Welcomes
Crystal O'Halloran
as the New Executive
Director

he National Lubricating and Grease Institute (NLGI)
has announced that Crystal O'Halloran, MBA, CAE,
has joined the organization as its new executive
director. In her role, O'Halloran will lead the institute's
global strategy and community outreach, manage operations
and drive membership growth and engagement.
"I'm honored and pleased to join the NLGI team," said
O'Halloran. "I'm dedicated to partnering with the Board of
Directors to make NLGI the go-to resource for grease education, including information that can lead to the development
of better lubricating greases for the consumer as well as provide
better grease lubrication engineering service to the industry."
O'Halloran received her undergraduate degree from
Kansas State University and graduate degree from Baker
University. She began her career in the hospitality industry
but quickly developed a passion for association management. O'Halloran has worked for two associations in Kansas
City and has 12 years of
association management
experience, including seven
years of trade association
experience.

meeting planner. "The quality of NLGI's meetings became
legendary under Kim's tenure," said Dave Como of Dow
Corning, the group's president, "and we're delighted to see
that continue for our upcoming Annual Meeting," in Coeur
d'Alene, Idaho, June 9-12, 2018.

to welcome Crystal O'Halloran to our organization.

added Como.

Introducing the
Asian Lubricant
Manufacturers
Union

he Asian Lubricant Manufacturers Union (ALMU)
officially launched on Dec. 1, 2017, in Singapore.
The brand-new trade association will serve the
all-important Asian lubricant market - the fastest growing
region for lubricant demand - and has appointed Enterprise Promotion Centres Pte Ltd. (EPC), headed by Jan Tan,
as Association Manager.
ALMU represents the combined knowledge and expertise
of lubricant manufacturers throughout the region, with goals
of becoming the trusted voice for the Asian lubricants industry; supporting the development of high-quality lubricants;
and providing exceptional value to its membership organizations. The region in which ALMU shall operate includes East
Asia, South Asia, North Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania.
Prospective ALMU members include independent
lubricant manufacturers, national oil companies and major
oil companies, lubricant additive manufacturers, marketers
and distributors, and base oil manufacturers, marketers and
distributors. Although members will primarily be from Asia,
any organization outside of Asia that has business interests in
the region are welcome to join.
EPC is a Singapore-based company that came to be in
1989 as an outcome of the SME Master Plan jointly formulated by the Singapore Economic Development Board and
the relevant government agencies. EPC provides business
facilitation as well as managed services to help companies
promote growth and develop capability.
The first organizational meeting for the new ALMU is invitation only and will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel Macao,
Cotai Strip, on March 6, 2018. Among those present will be
the presidents of UEIL representing Europe, the Shanghai
Lubricant Traders Association representing China and ILMA
representing North America.
